Hillel celebrates Tu B'Shvat
Students from the Jewish organization Hillel gathered in an apartment in University Commons on Burbank Drive to celebrate Tu B'Shvat, the Jewish celebration of the new year of trees.
The students ate fruits and nuts to celebrate the gifts of nature and drank white and red wine to commemorate the changing of the seasons.
They left with homemade terrariums made from potted plants in juice glasses to bring the spirit of Tu B'Shvat home to remember throughout the year, said Moshe Cohen, math graduate student and treasurer for Hillel.
