Baseball: LeBlanc and Cecchini sign with Red Sox, Gausman denies Dodgers’ offer - 8:09 p.m.

The verdict is out on three players drafted by MLB teams but also committed to playing baseball for LSU.

Outfielder Lucas LeBlanc and infielder Garin Cecchini have signed with the Boston Red Sox, according to The Times Picayune.

LeBlanc most recently played for Delgado Community College and was selected in the 11th round of this year's MLB draft. Cecchini was drafted in the fourth round of of Barbe High School in Lake Charles.

Pitcher Kevin Gausman has "informed the club that he will not sign and has reported to LSU," according to the Los Angeles Dodgers' website.

The Dodgers selected the gunslinger from Centennial, Colo., in the sixth round.

The deadline to sign draft picks is 11 p.m. tonight.

LSU coach Paul Mainieri is awaiting news on seven other players, most notably pitcher Anthony Ranaudo and dual-sport athlete Zach Lee.
