Men's Basketball: Johnson optimistic for future

2/11/10 8:31 PM

Fans are impatient. Just look at football. Coaches are given a puny amount of time to build a program, much less win. For many schools, basketball is similar, if not the same. The North Carolinas and Dukes of the world demand excellence year in and year out. After pleasing many in his first season, LSU coach Trent Johnson has hit a rough spot in his tenure at LSU. Recruiting tidbits

Scout.com reports running back Lache Seastrunk said Auburn is his front runner. LSU and Texas are also under consideration by Seastrunk. It looks like the running back will sign on or before National Signing Day. “I thought what Bryce Brown did was disrespectful to all of the coaches,” Seastrunk told Tigerrag.com. “He should’ve been up-front and told them what he was going to do.” Another running back has LSU in his top 5 schools. Michael Dyer out of Little Rock, Ark., narrowed his top 5 to Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas. But the Scout four-star back has Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas as front-runners. Four-star defensive end/linebacker Christian Jones  is “intrigued” by the offers from LSU, according...
