LSU junior tight end DeAngelo Peterson will miss the Tigers' season opener against North Carolina on Saturday, coach Les Miles said in a teleconference Wednesday.
Peterson injured his ankle in practice, but is "short term" according to Miles.
Peterson caught five passes for 82 yards last season. He played in 13 games.
