Wow. The mob reminds me of those tongue speaking churches, where everyone goes crazy and starts babbling. Its like they're in a trance. They really get off on shouting down some little hippie kid and his hot blonde friend, its amazing. What a bunch of animals.

I love how the majority of these "pro" kill-hippy-kids don't say squat when people like Terry Jones show up. To the Marine mother, grow the hell up. I love how you leave all the blessings of America up to someone else and not yourself. Freedom of speech is freedom of speech. Right-Wingers and Tea-Baggers alike should be counting their blessings that none of their puppets started shooting.

Skeith, this country is not a pure democracy. In fact, the founding fathers worked hard to prevent us from being one. You're comments about majority rule are immensely ignorant of history.

Thank you to all the patriots at LSU! God Bless you!

I hope and pray this movement will spread to campuses all across our great country. We must stand up to the socialists that have dominated academia for decades. We have had enough of their lies and bilge about America.

Great job LSU!

Only a socialist would stoop to burning the Amecrian Flag and slap the face of every man who ever died for his countery.

I am completely against what that Grad Student planned to do,

but I must say this (out of humor): If he really wanted to make a statement, he should have made sure to file all the necessary paperwork haha. It really makes you lose a lot credibility when your fumble the ball on a nationally televised demonstration because you FORGOT TO GET THE RIGHT PERMIT.

I will concede that I'm unaware of whether he was denied or whether it was genuine ignorance, but you'd think he'd be on top of that.

If he really wanted to make a statement, he should have washed the flag instead.

Hmm. It seems my earlier post was not posted for some reason or another. Eh, whatever. Anyway, I agree there. How exactly is burning, which is an act of destruction, peaceful? Please explain this to me. Also, to those who rant about this, bear in mind that this country is a democracy. What happens with democracy? Oh, that's right. MAJORITY rules. Not the two to three extremists who feel the need to be different such as these gentlemen who are wanting to burn the flag. Now, as was clearly shown, he was allowed to express his opinion. It was met with ridicule by the MAJORITY of the LSU student body who was counter protesting. I fail to see how anyone's rights were violated here.

To some of these Anonymous people that are stupidly making the argument that our soldiers never died for a flag... you are right they didn't die for a flag they died for what the American flag represents which is Freedom of rights based on our constitution... However it was not the founding fathers intent for us to burn and disrespect this symbol of Freedom when we don't get our way. Burning the flag is an insult to all Freedom allowed in this country. Ironic that he would burn a symbol of Freedom to argue against taking away freedom... Fool. We protect the minority but even in governmental decisions what is best for the majority is upheld. And the LSU majority has spoken...

Just a question concerning photo number 6. How is wearing the flag as an article of clothing different than burning it.

So the government should respect people's property rights, unless they want to destroy a fabric with a particular pattern on it?

Anyone upset about this doesn't really understand what freedom is. The kid is a moron since the original person destroyed the schools flag, not his own, but they both have every right to destroy anything they own.

"If you're not proud and respectful of the flag that flies over America, that men and women have died to protect, perhaps you're living in the wrong country." If most people are like you and think that service men and women die to protect a flag, then maybe I am living in the wrong country.

I do not by any means agree with burning the flag. However, what point is this ass trying to get across by buring our flag?

If he wanted to get his point across, maybe he should have washed the flag.

Earlier I posted that his message should be given consideration even though the burning flag wasn't a good idea. Let me clarify:

I agree with stopping him from burning the flag. Water balloons, squirt guns, etc... awesome.

It just seems like he was never even given a chance to be heard by the crowd. The pictures and description make it seem like his time was cut short due to the way the crowd reacted.

Offensive acts (like flag burning) should be stopped, but every view point should be given consideration.

I'm very happy that the flag was not burned, but all in all this protest seems to have done some good. It has a lot of people discussing the first amendment and what it means.

How is it peaceful to start a fire, and evoke others to turn to violence? He probably doesn't even vote. What a pathetic excuse for an America.
