In a YouTube video, Alabama fans are seen harrassing an LSU fan Jan. 9 after the national championship game in New Orleans.

A YouTube video surfaced late last week showing a University of Alabama football fan sexually assaulting an incapacitated LSU fan at the Krystal restaurant on Bourbon Street in New Orleans after the national championship game.

The LSU fan remains asleep on a table as a sea of crimson-clad Alabama fans surround him mockingly, placing various items on and around his head while asking whether he is dead and saying he will soon "be all over YouTube."

Approximately three minutes into the video, an Alabama fan pulls his genitals out of his pants and places them in the LSU fan's face and thrusts his hips. The Alabama fan then proceeds to mock-sodomize the LSU fan.

The video garnered more than 10,000 views before being removed by the poster on Sunday afternoon. Some YouTube commenters called for the Alabama fan's arrest, citing sexual harassment and remarking that his actions are "embarrassing" and "a disgrace."

Remi Braden, director of public affairs for the New Orleans Police Department, said NOPD's sex crimes unit is aware of the video. Braden said the actions appear to be sexual assault, but officials cannot open an investigation unless the victim comes forward, which he had not as of Monday.

Twitter user KonwayTweety posted on Sunday that he is the Alabama fan in the video, saying it's "awesome" that the popular sports blog Deadspin reported on the incident. In response to a tweet saying the assault would send him to jail, the Alabama fan tweeted, "My dad is rich...I wont be going to jail...#RollDamnTide boy."

Communications officials from the  University of Alabama's police department were not available for comment by press time.

"This took the rivalry to a whole new level," said Trey Woodward, LSU international trade and finance sophomore. "It's complete defamation."

LSU Grad X 4

Just goes to show you what kind behavior can be engendered by the mindless following of sports teams. There is just too much emphasis on sports in general and football in particular in modern culture. When will universities remember they were originally created to educate people, not field football teams? Just disgusting. But really, I think ALL of the people in the video who watched this creep abuse an unconsious person should be charged as accessories to his crime. Although I hold four degrees from LSU, I am proud to say that I have only attended ONE LSU football game my life. That one was MORE than enough. Personally, I don't like being surrounded by loud obnoxious drunks or people on their way to becoming loud obnoxious drunks.I have a feeling that maybe his post game experience-- now that he knows about it-- will help at least this one LSU fan learn to drink more moderately. I doubt that the same will be true for the Alabama fans- except, perhaps, for theone who has been arrested.

The tea bagged is clearly guilty of sexual assault. But who stands around and lets that happen, in fact abets it, shoots video of it, posts it in a public place, and apparently enjoys it? All those students should be expelled. I hope the victim sues them.

To all Alabama supporters condemning Mettenberger - according to USA Today, he had an offer from the University of Alabama. Stop acting 'holier than though'; you wanted the guy, too.

I'm sure if all the bad manners from college football were broadcast over youtube it would be a huge embarrassment to the fans and the school.

I think if anyone should be arrested for assault it should be the Bama Defense for raping the LSU line all night. Jordan Jefferson's butt must hurt. RTR!

Yet the LSU program will probably start Zack Mettenberger next year only a few years removed from pleading guilty to second degree sexual battery.

Which is worse...the actions of two fans Alabama has no control over or the past actions of a QB the entire tiger nation will welcome with open arms

So we have an Alabama fan poisoning Auburn's tree in Toomer's Corner after they lose, and another Alabama fan molesting a passed out LSU fan after they win. Something is definitely wrong with that inbred program.

I hope the New Orleans police do find this piece of pond scum and arrest him for sexual assault, hazing and whatever else they can pin on him. As far his Daddy getting him off, well this is New Orleans dude, your 'Daddy' ain't got no stroke in Louisiana much less New Orleans. I really want to see him cooling his jets in parish prison for a while. Not a very nice place to be - paybacks a bi-achhhhhh, just sayin'

Let me start off by saying that as the father of a child who attends the University of Alabama (no connection to this DISGUSTING act) I am overwhelmingly embarassed that the actions of a few cretins reflect upon the University and the state. I am truly disturbed that so many in our society celebrate the inhumanity of others. This behavior is everywhere in our country and is a poignant commentary on where we are headed.

I sincerely apologize on behalf of the University and the state and hope all LSU fans will know there are still many of us who value sportsmanship, honor and integrity over glorified displays of false bravado.

Uhuh. Maso Dixon line huh. As I recall most sexual deviants and serial killers are either from the north east or out west. Check it out. But yeah... I suppose a stupid kid that commits a vile prank that is probably perpetrated on a college campus every saturday night is a sign of how terrible the south is. And way to interject race where it has nothing to do with the story... because that is never a sign that someone has no base to their argument.
