LSU Press, which has published four Pulitzer Prize-winning books, will remain open despite having to take a $100,000 University funding cut this year, Mary Katherine Callaway told the Chronicle of Higher Education today.
The University is cutting the program's budget - usually $450,000 annually - because of its own budget situation. LSU A&M in Baton Rouge is set to take a state funding cut of about $9 million for fiscal year 2009-10, which started July 1.
The campus had to endure a $10 million mid-year budget cut in January as well.
