The LSU men's basketball team will be without two crucial pieces this coming season, coach Trent Johnson announced Wednesday.

Bo Spencer, who was suspended from the team at the end of the spring semester, has been dismissed from school and the program for failure to meet academic requirements.

Spencer would have been Johnson's most experienced starter heading into the 2010-11 season. He averaged 14.5 points per game last season as the Tigers' point guard. He also started for LSU during its run to the 2009 Southeastern Conference championship.

In another bit of bad news, Johnson said signee K.C. Ross-Miller did not pass NCAA Clearinghouse requirements and will not be eligible to play this fall.

Johnson added that Daron Populist, a walk-on for last year's squad, will be invited to join the team again when the fall semester begins.
