These figures reflect the non-classified 2008-2009 annual salaries of University employees as of July 1, 2008. Note that employee salary is not necessarily the same as employee pay; the latter can be affected by other factors like bonuses.

The sum of the salaries equals $219,217,241. Divided among 3,286 employees, this equals an average salary of $66,712.49. The median salary is $58,000.

You can search the database using most browsers' search functions. On Apple computers, the search function is typically accessed by typing Apple + F. On Windows computers, the search function is typically accessed by typing Control + F.

If you are unable to find a specific University employee on the database, please leave a comment and let us know. Keep in mind these figures are current as of July 1, 2008.

As of Oct. 27, 2008, the salaries of Daily Reveille managment are posted on the salary database. These salaries are accurate for the fall 2008 semester only. Because these are student worker salaries, and also because they are scheduled on a per-semester basis, they are not included in the salary sum or in the calculations of the average and median salaries.

Congrats Reveille staff:
Good luck getting assistance from any professional on LSU's staff in the future when working on stories, etc.
Talk about burning bridges!

Nobody is getting overpaid at all, trust me if anything LSU teachers are underpaid across the board.

Maybe you should post how many years of service, level of education, and other resume information so that is can be put in better perspective. everyone keeps talking about all the people who are overpaid, but keep in mind that there are many that are underpaid as well.
I see a trend

There seems to be a wide discrepancy between the number of comments listed as pending and the number actually posted...I wonder why? Suffice it to say, this article has all the class we've come to expect from other Reveille PLAGIARIZED articles and postings. Asking for an original article interpreting/digesting the data is too much...apparently it's easier to just copy.

Is it just me or are the coaches' salaries a little off? If my memory serves me correctly...Les Miles makes way more than $300,000 a year. Is the rest a huge bonus if we have a winning season?
Disgusted about students who have nothing to write about...

To all people requesting the salaries of Reveille employees:
They are STUDENT WORKERS, so they make MINIMUM WAGE. Geez people. I don't know why the student salaries aren't listed, but clearly there's some reason they can't be or else they would be. Why are you so interested in a bunch of students making 30 dollars a week anyway? Grow up. The Reveille writers definitely aren't doing it for the money, they're just undergraduates trying to get an education like everyone else.
sad about the state of journalism
