Baton Rouge area cyclists gathered by the hundreds to ride in memory of accident victims Nathan Crowson and Daniel Morris.

A drunk driver on Perkins Road hit Crowson and Morris Jan. 21. Crowson was died on the scene, according to Baton Rouge Police, and Morris was brought, comatose, to a nearby hospital.

This month's Critical Mass bike ride was dedicated in honor of Crowson and Morris.

Alan Mayeux, a friend of Morris, announced to the gathered crowd Friday that Morris woke up from a coma earlier that day.

Friends of Crowson and Morris organized a "Bus Ride Blood Drive" scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28. The event is intended to provide needed blood for transfusions while raising awareness for public transportation as a safe alternative to drunk driving, according to event fliers.
