The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested an 18-year-old Baton Rouge man in connection to a Nov. 29 rape at an apartment on Stanford Avenue after DNA evidence connected him to the crime, according to a BRPD news release today.
BRPD officers arrested Allan Hernandez, of 3030 Congress Blvd., around midnight last night after BRPD investigators questioned and took DNA samples from several suspects during the week. The Louisiana State Crime Lab was able to connect DNA evidence from the Standford Avenue apartment to Hernandez.
The investigation into the crime is ongoing, and Hernandez is also considered a suspect in a similar attack that occurred at a Lee Drive apartment complex on Nov. 22.
