An officer observed a person walking on the hoods of vehicles at 1:25 a.m. Jan. 20 on the east side of the East Campus Apartments complex, said Capt. Cory Lalonde, LSU police department spokesperson.
Police later identified the person as Patrick R. Garrison, a 19-year-old University student of 6619 Westchester Avenue in Houston, Texas.
The officer detained Garrison, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested and issued a misdemeanor for disturbing the peace, Lalonde said.
He said owners of two of the vehicles involved declined to press charges against Garrison. Officers are still trying to contact the other vehicle owners.
Further charges may be made in the future, Lalonde said.
