Head football coach Les Miles introduced Matt Flynn to the Board of Supervisors today as the player who "very comfortably appears to be our next quarterback."

Flynn and red shirt freshmen Ryan Perrilloux have been rumored as candidates after JaMarcus Russell announced he will enter the NFL draft.

Flynn told the board he is thankful for his opportunities and is "ready to go" for next season.

"I've enjoyed every day I've been at LSU ... both athletically and with academics," he said.

Board members told Flynn they are confident in his abilities as quarterback.

Miles previously said a starting quarterback for the 2007 season would not be determined until after spring training.

The quarterback question received more attention after word began to circulate that Perrilloux is the subject of a federal investigation.

Nathan Fisher, Perrilloux's attorney, confirmed that he is representing Perrilloux but would not say for what.
