Former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux told the Birmingham News on Wednesday that he will sign with Jacksonville State.

"Basically I just see this as a second opportunity to be successful," Perrilloux said.

LSU coach Les Miles kicked Perrilloux off LSU's football team earlier this month after a failed drug test.

The LaPlace native also told the Birmingham News he only visited two schools while deciding on his second school -- Jacksonville State and Alabama A&M.

Calls to Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe and Greg Seitz, Jacksonville State sports information director, were not returned.

Miles declined to comment.
