Senate Candidate
Ticket: Leading the Way

1. How will you change the daily life of students in your college if elected?
The Student Senate and will change the daily lives of LSU students by representing our constituents the way in which they wish to be heard. Also, by collaborating with the Executive Branch, Judicial Branch and the standing committees that the senate consists of, campus-wide initiatives could be implemented to affect every student here, at LSU.

2. What is the most important issue facing students on campus?
Many people will state that Budget Cuts is the most daunting issue facing this campus. However true that may be, I feel that the education of students about these Budget cuts and the domino effect incurred by the cuts is the paramount issue that faces each and every student. Every student has the first and foremost responsibility of being a student, but in times of hardship all students need to be aware of how something like this will affect them now and years to come. With collaboration in SG, we are currently working on educating students as much as possible and that needs to be done now and in the future.

3. Where do you see the University in five years?
I see Louisiana State University surpassing any stereotype and every misconception other schools have for us with the help of our students, faculty, and community to change the face of LSU. LSU has a lot to offer, however some things need to change if we want to maintain our Top Tier Institution status and I will do anything in my power to keep that status and to make the status of this campus better than its ever been, as well. Never leave anything without making it better.

4. What will you change from the past administration?
Senate administration, if you mean past senators, I would make sure to make more of an effort to be more visible to my constituents. Currently, I worry more about getting things done and making change then focusing on meeting new students of my college and organizations. However, even though getting things done is an important aspect of the position, I personally feel it my responsibility to maintain contacts with students and fulfill their needs as much as possible.

5. Why are you qualified for the position you're running for?
I am qualified for this position because of my drive to help students all around campus. This past year I have had the honor and privilege to be the senator of Basic Sciences and I am asking for my constituents to help me again to achieve this position. I sit as the Vice Chair of Academics in the Senate and have past legislation to reform library hours and other important bills and resolutions that directly affects LSU students. I am currently working along with Student Government to protect the integrity of this institution by urging the Louisiana legislature to change something concerning higher education in Louisiana. I am qualified because I care about students, whether they are in my senior college or not. I persevere no matter the situation and will do the same for all of the students of this place I call home.
