1. How will you change the daily life of students in your college if elected?
There are a lot of changes that can be made for the students of UCFY. I would like to get some counselors in from the other colleges like BASC or Arts and Sciences for example, to help guide students down the right path for their careers or concentrations. I would also like to have the freshman students more involved and one way of doing that is informing them of what is going on around campus. I feel a monthly newsletter would be a great start and it would entail things such as organizations, events, updates, add/drop dates, etc. Freshman sometimes also have problems meeting new people especially if they did not attend S.T.R.I.P.E.S. or similar programs and do not live on campus. I would also like to have a freshman picnic on the parade grounds, another freshman tailgate, a service project, or a beginning of the year meeting with a Question and Answer session to give them an opportunity to meet with the college council and ask any questions. The college council is there to listen to the problems the students are having so giving them our email addresses and phone numbers at the beginning of the semester to contact us for scheduleing help or class trouble or even just to hang out would be another way of making this trasition from highschool to college easier.

2. What is the most important issue facing students on campus?
The most important issue facing students on campus right now is the budget cuts. It not only affects the faculty and staff of LSU, but also the students directly. Departments and degree programs are being cut. We must protect the academic core and advocate against tuition increases.

3. Where do you see the University in five years?
I see the University being in its full swing again after surviving the economy and recovering from budget cuts.

4. What will you change from the past administration?
I would like to better inform the freshman of what is going on and letting them know when deadlines for applications such as Freshman Leadership Committee and better advertising open positions on the college council. I also want to make the college council more responsible for answering any questions students may have.

5. Why are you qualified for the position you're running for?
I am currently a member of FLC and have shadowed many current SG members seeing how they do their jobs and run their councils or meetings. I also currently serve as Vice President of the Horseshoe Community Council and have put on numerous programs such as Boo in the Shoe and the Darwin Ball both open to all of LSU and its surrounding community. I am a member of the Sesquicentennial Student Sub-Committee where I play a first hand role in helping plan and being a volunteer at all of the wonderful celebrations LSU has planned for its 150th birthday.
