What is your major and year?
I'm a junior majoring in political science with minors in business administration and leadership & human resource development.
Where are you from?
I'm from New Orleans, La.
What positions have you held in the past at The Reveille?
News reporter (Fall 2018 - Spring 2019) / News editor (Fall 2019 - Spring 2020) / Editor in chief (Spring 2021)
Why did you join The Reveille?
As a non-Manship student, I ended up at The Reveille by chance. After picking up a paper one day my freshman year, I walked to the newsroom, asked if there were any open positions and was hired as a news reporter by the end of the week. The rest is history.
What does The Reveille mean to you?
I've grown so much as both a journalist and leader during my time here and have had so many great experiences I never would have had otherwise. This is my second semester as the Reveille's editor-in-chief, and it's been an honor and a privilege to chart the Reveille's course during these unprecedented times.
If you had one piece of advice for a new student, what would it be?
Take full advantage of all the resources and opportunities available to you at LSU and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Having a good GPA is important, but the experiences you'll gain in student organizations (like the Reveille!) and internships and the connections you'll make along the way will set you up for future success. Your degree is what you make of it.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I plan on entering law school in Fall 2022.
