What is your major and year?
English RWC senior with minors in History and French
Where are you from?
What positions have you held in the past at The Reveille?
Copy Editor, Chief Designer
Why did you join The Reveille? Why production?
I joined to gain editing experience but ended up transitioning to a more design-heavy role as I moved through the ranks. I like designing layouts for the newspaper, but what makes production the place for me is the people. Production is a really close-knit group — I just love this section.
What does The Reveille mean to you?
The Reveille has cultivated within me a love for both design and journalism and has helped me develop many valuable skills that I'll use for years to come. But more than that, it has connected me to the LSU community, giving me the opportunity to make lasting connections with many wonderful people. Being a part of something as worthwhile as the Reveille is truly a privilege — a gratifying experience that I will not soon forget.
If you had one piece of advice for a new student, what would it be?
Don't be intimidated — College is a hard adjustment and can be overwhelming, but I spent too much of my time afraid to talk to other students and professors due to some perceived inadequacy in myself, afraid to come across as unintelligent or incapable. They're just people too, speak up when you need help or even if you just feel like speaking.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I hope to work within the publishing field, either as an editor or a writer.
