The works presented this week decidedly focus on themes of existentialism and death. Using two very powerful works, we see an older and a contemporary interpretation of similar themes.
Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" conducted by Simon Rattle
-With quietly flowing movement
-Very solemn, but simple
-In tempo of the scherzo
David T. Little: Haunt of Last Nightfall
-Between the Hammer and the Anvil
-Line Up/ Face Down
-Coda: And there was evening. . .
-. . . and there was morning - the Second Day
-Prayer (for No. 59)
-Postlude: The Girl on La Cruz
